year<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Expected solar production based on weather forecasts and historical weatherdata<\/li><li>Electricity network costs based on power consumption, taxes and transmission fees<\/li><li>Spot price data from the electricity market<\/li><\/ul><p>The goal is for the battery to be used in the way that provides the greatest economic benefit.<\/p><p><strong>Charging the Battery<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>Solar power <br \/>FerroAI primarily charges the battery with the surplus from solar production. If there is sunshine during the day, the\u00a0 battery can refrain from charging from the grid, even if electricity is cheap. In case of high sunshine, the battery will prioritise charging during the hours when the spot price is lowest, so that you get paid as much as possible for the\u202fexports.<br \/><br \/><\/li><li>If solar production is not expected to meet the demand, the battery will be charged from the grid when the electricity price is low. If you pay power tariffs, FerroAI spreads the charge over several cheap hours, rather than maximising the charge when it is cheapest, to avoid creating power peaks.<br \/>\u202f\u00a0<\/li><li>Charging from the grid only takes place if FerroAI expects that there will be an economic benefit to it.<\/li><\/ol><p>\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Battery Discharge<\/strong><\/p><p>To create economic benefit, FerroAI prioritizes discharges in the following order:<\/p><ol><li>Cutting power peaks (if you pay power tariffs) <br \/>FerroAI reserves battery capacity to cut expected power peaks based on historical electricity changes and seasonal variations. <br \/><br \/><\/li><li>Maximising self-use of solar electricity <br \/>It is more profitable to use self-produced electricity than to sell it.
