is a great interest among our customers all over the country to be involved and support the electricity grid. The need for flexibility in the electricity grid will increase and properties with Ferroamp systems will thus have an important role to play,&#8221; says Kent Jonsson, CEO of Ferroamp.<\/p><p>During the spring, battery owners with Ferroamp systems in bidding area three have been able to participate in the balancing market for ancillary services by joining Varberg Energi&#8217;s Flex Batteri.<\/p><p>The systems are thus part of one of only three virtual power plants (VPPs) where homeowners can be paid to contribute battery capacity to support the electricity grid in the event of disturbances through the ancillary service FCR-D.<\/p><p>If a disturbance occurs and there suddenly is too little or too much electricity production in the electricity grid, the batteries procured on the balancing market are activated to be charged or discharged. The payment for contributing capacity comes on the electricity bill.<\/p><p>Around 700 customers in bidding area three have registered their participation and are now earning money by contributing flexibility, while at the same time being able to continue to use their battery for their own needs through the unique technical solution. The compensation varies but can be several thousand kronor a month to individual customers.<\/p><p>The application for pre-qualification that has now been submitted applies to bidding area four and interested parties can already now register for Flex Battery for the opportunity to participate from the beginning.<\/p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s great that our customers in southern Sweden can also be rewarded when they add flexibility to the electricity system.
