Today, people often buy energy solutions separately to solve a need here and now. As society becomes electrified, needs, opportunities, and challenges will change. That’s why it is wise to install flexible solutions that can be expanded in the future. This creates more business opportunities for you as an installer and becomes a smarter investment for the customer.
Ferroamp technology is based on a DC network, which enables centrally connected control of the entire electrical system. In the scalable system, new features and more components, such as batteries for energy storage or electric car chargers, can be integrated. The unique phase balancing creates space in the electrical system, and focusing on the entire property’s electricity and power needs reduces the load on the grid connection.
With the Ferroamp system’s EnergyHub, an intelligent and efficient inverter is provided for the solar panels and can simultaneously be a converter for a battery. DC technology results in lower conversion losses.
Ferroamp system’s unique dynamic phase balancing handles imbalances in the grid and evens out the load across the three phases. This allows for more efficient electricity usage so that, for example, you can charge the electric car and run the tumble dryer at the same time without the main fuse blowing.
With Ferroamp system’s smart control, the battery becomes a flexible tool in the property, which, besides being charged with solar energy, can be used to charge at night when electricity is cheap and discharged when it is most expensive during the day. If you have a power tariff, the battery can also be used to cut costly consumption peaks.
The active phase balancing frees up space for hassle-free electric car charging. By fully integrating the charging box into the Ferroamp system using the OCPP communication protocol, charging can be dynamically controlled and load balanced to avoid power peaks. You can also choose to only charge when there is a surplus of solar power in the system.
You can easily expand your Ferroamp system as new needs arise. The system is scalable, so you can add batteries or get more solar panels. We also update the system over the net as new features are added so that you can always meet new conditions in the electricity market.

Like the hybrid inverter, EnergyHub can control solar energy to send it out in the property or into the battery. Most hybrid inverters have the MPPT inputs for the solar cell system and the input for battery connection built-in. In the Ferroamp system, the solar cells and battery are connected via separate solar string optimizers (SSO) and energy storage optimizers (ESO) to the DC network and EnergyHub. The system thus becomes scalable and can be expanded with, for example, more solar panels in additional directions or more batteries without having to buy a completely new inverter.
The Ferroamp system has three open API:s that can be used for integrations with other control and visualization systems. These are a CloudAPI, a Modbus TCP API, and what we call Ext-API, which is an MQTT client API. The Ferroamp system also has integrations with several charging stations through the communication protocol OCPP 1.6-J. See which charging stations we support here. The Ferroamp system also has an API integration with charging stations from CTEK, which provides access to measurement data on the property’s available currents based on consumption and main fuse level, as well as an integration with SolarFox for visualization of production and measurement data.
PowerShare is Ferroamp’s patented technology for sharing electricity between buildings. PowerShare builds on Ferroamp’s direct current technology and direct current network, but in addition to connecting solar panels and batteries to the direct current network, additional Ferroamp systems with their own EnergyHubs connected to their own grid connections are also connected. This gives you the opportunity to share electricity from solar panels and storage capacity in batteries between multiple buildings. We can then intelligently control the distribution of electricity in the direct current network based on the measurement values we collect from each grid connection with the current transformers connected to each EnergyHub.
Ferroamp EnergyHub is available in different sizes, and it is possible to connect anything from one to several hundred kilowatts. The string optimizer, which is part of the Ferroamp system, can automatically limit the power from the solar cells, allowing you to oversize the solar cell power by up to 120% and thus use a smaller and more affordable EnergyHub even if the installed power exceeds the capacity of the EnergyHub.
Ferroamp EnergyHub should be installed in a weather-protected space free from condensation. Since it is powered by a fan that has approximately the same noise level as a desktop computer and generates some heat load, it can advantageously be installed in, for example, a garage, basement, attic, or storage room to avoid disturbing noise.
