Energy Storage - the key to full flexibility

With the smart control of the Ferroamp system, your battery becomes a flexible tool. You can both charge with solar electricity to use when the sun goes down or charge with electricity from the grid when it is cheap at night to use when it is most expensive during the day.

Our batteries are available in different sizes that can be adapted to your need for both storage capacity and power consumption.

Advantages of batteries
in the Ferroamp-system
01
Flexible Solar Power
Store solar power produced during the day and use it in the evening or when consumption is at its highest.
02
Charge from the grid
With the bi-directional converter it is possible to charge the battery from the grid when electricity prices are low.
03
Peak Shaving
Use the battery when the electricity usage peaks. This will protect the main fuse and has the potential to lower your cost.
04
Scheduling
Use the scheduling function in the Ferroamp system that makes it possible to adapt its functionality to different circumstances.
05
Modularity
The modular construction makes it easy to expand when needed

Battery models

Ferroamp offers batteries that can be connected to and controlled by the ferroamp system through built in Energy Storage Optimizers (ESO). There are models for both private homes and larger buildings. The batteries are modular and can be expanded when needed.

A battery gives you as a user a number of possibilities and freedoms. You can increase the self-consumption of solar power by charging the battery during the day and discharging it when the solar panels stop producing. The battery can also be charged from the grid at night when electricity prices are generally lower to be discharged during the morning when prices are higher. You can also keep the power output from the grid down by cutting the power peaks and discharging when consumption in the property is at its highest.  With a battery, it is also possible to participate in the frequency regulation market through aggregators. This means that some of the battery’s capacity is made available to help keep the frequency on the grid, which can be lucrative.

The warranties for Ferroamp’s batteries extend between 5 and 10 years. The battery will not stop working after that but will be able to be used for many years even after the warranty has expired

Ferroamp’s batteries are based on lithium iron phosphate (LiFePo), which is a battery chemistry characterized by being thermally stable. This means that the batteries are fireproof and do not cause uncontrollable battery fires thanks to the very low risk of thermal runaway.

Ancillary services  are services for flexibility balancing that are traded on the electricity network balance sheet market. These are procured by Svenska kraftnät, which has the task of ensuring that the frequency of the electricity grid is always at 50Hz. In the event of rapid changes in production or consumption, there is a need to be able to quickly adjust both production and consumption to ensure the balance of the electricity grid.
