Warranty

What warranty terms apply to Ferroamp's products?

1.         WARRANTY

Ferroamp warrants in accordance with the terms set forth in this limited warranty that Ferroamp’s products for the duration of the warranty period as shown below, in all material respects are in conformity with their respective product data sheet. This warranty covers defects in workmanship and materials occurring during normal installation, use, service, maintenance and repair of Ferroamp’s products.

A product which does not in all material respects conform with its associated product data sheet due to defects in workmanship or materials, is hereinafter described as “non-conform” or “defect”.

Ferroamp’s liability under this warranty covers all Ferroamp’s products, apart from the Battery System, for which Ferroamp’s supplier is liable (see below).

2.         WARRANTY PERIOD

This warranty is valid for a period of five (5) years, starting from (i) the commissioning of the product, or (ii) one (1) year after the production date of the product, whichever occurs first (the “Warranty Period”).

For Ferroamp´s products EnergyHub, with serial numbers beginning with 23- and 24-, and Solar String Optimizer (SSO), with serial numbers beginning with 23-, 24- and 25-, this warranty is valid for a period of five (5) years, starting from (i) the commissioning of the product, or (ii) five (5) years after the production date of the product, whichever occurs first (the “Warranty Period”).

If the covered product is repaired or replaced, the warranty does not start afresh. The warranty for products or parts that have been repaired or completely or partially replaced, thus expires when the warranty for the original product would have expired.

The Warranty Period for Ferroamp’s EnergyHub and Solar String Optimizer (SSO) can be extended from five (5) years up to a total warranty period of ten (10) years, for an extra cost. Extended warranty shall be subscribed within forty-five (45) days from the commissioning of the product. Please contact Ferroamp for more information regarding warranty extension.

Warranty extensions are subject to the same terms and conditions as the standard warranty.

3.         WARRANTY SERVICES

If a product covered by this warranty is defect, and the terms of this warranty are met otherwise, Ferroamp will repair the product, replace the product with a replacement product, or refund the purchase price in exchange for the return of the product.

Ferroamp has the right to, at its own discretion, decide whether a defect product shall be repaired, replaced completely or partially, or refunded in exchange for the return of the product. This warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective parts with those of equal or greater value, at the sole discretion of Ferroamp. Repair, replacement and refund of the purchase price are the sole remedies of this warranty.

4.         USE OF THE PRODUCT ETCETERA

For this warranty to be valid for a product, the product is required to, at all times starting from the commission of the product, be connected to the internet and Ferroamp Energy Cloud System.

This warranty is only valid if the covered product has been used in accordance with the end user manuals and other instructions provided by Ferroamp. Furthermore, the installation of the product must be done in accordance with the installation manuals provided by Ferroamp for this warranty to be valid. Repair of Ferroamp’s product must only be carried out by Ferroamp or someone else appointed by Ferroamp, for this warranty to be valid.

5.         SCOPE

This warranty only applies for products purchased directly from Ferroamp or from one of Ferroamp’s authorized retailers or installers.

The warranty may be transferred from the first operator of a covered product to another person together with the product, provided that (i) the product is not removed from the place where it was first put into use, and (ii) no modifications are made to the product. In no other case can this warranty be transferred from one person to another. The new warranty holder will not receive a new warranty with the transfer of the product, but rather takes over the warranty to the extent that it existed in relation to the first operator at the time of the transfer.

6.         WARRANTY FOR THE BATTERY SYSTEM OFFERED BY FERROAMP’S SUPPLIER

The battery and the battery management system are referred to as the “Battery System”. The warranty on the Battery System is exclusively offered by Ferroamp’s supplier of the Battery System. Such supplier is identified below and/or in a separate document. Upon failure of the Battery System and upon request from the customer, Ferroamp will, as its sole obligation, provide available history usage data of the Battery System and a written opinion from Ferroamp describing the nature and the cause of the failure.

7.         EXCLUSIONS OF WARRANTY

This warranty only applies for products on which defects occur during normal installation, use, maintenance, service and repair.

The warranty is void in the following cases:

  • failure to follow the instructions on the user’s manual, or if a repair is carried out by a person appointed by Ferroamp,
  • if alterations are made to the original design,
  • if damage is done by power surge,
  • if damage is done by improper installation, maintenance or other such misuse,
  • if damage is done by water damage
  • if product is operated outside the use and/or service conditions set out in the manual, product sheets etc.,
  • if the product is not or has not been connected to the internet or Ferroamp’s server, or
  • if the product is damaged due to lightning strikes or other force majeure events.

The warranty does not cover non-conformity in Ferroamp’s products that are insignificant or do not affect or have very small effect on the proper functioning of the products. Nor does the warranty cover “cosmetic” changes of the product that do not affect the functioning of the products.

Ferroamp shall not be liable to the purchaser or any other person for any incidental, special or consequential, direct, indirect or any other damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, damages for personal injury, property damage or economic losses, whether based on contract, warranty, negligence product liability.

8.         WARRANTY CLAIM

To be entitled to warranty service you must make a warranty claim before the expiration of the Warranty Period, in accordance with Ferroamp’s terms of warranty, and follow the procedure described below.

A warranty claim must be made to the installer or retailer from whom you have purchased the product. When making your claim, you must instruct the installer or retailer to contact Ferroamp for the continued process of the matter.

In the warranty claim you shall provide the following information:

  • the sales receipt or other evidence of the date and place of purchase,
  • full name, contact detail (including telephone number and email address),
  • construction number of the product,
  • a description of the problem
  • images or video evidence of the problem

Your warranty claim will be processed once Ferroamp has been provided the above information.

If your claim concerns the Battery System, you will be referred to Ferroamp’s supplier of the Battery System, and the claim will be processed in accordance with the supplier’s warranty conditions.

If a product covered by this warranty needs to be removed for return shipment, it is the customer’s responsibility to safely remove and send the product to Ferroamp at the customer’s own cost.

If the defect can be remedied by replacement or repair of a defective part and if dismantling and reinstallation of the part does not require special knowledge, Ferroamp may demand that the defective part is sent to Ferroamp, or a destination specified by Ferroamp. In such case, Ferroamp shall have fulfilled its obligations in respect of the defect when a duly repaired part or replacement part has been delivered to the customer.

Ferroamp will return the product to the customer at Ferroamp’s expense.
