Fewer conversion losses
Since both solar cells and energy storage run on DC, conversion losses are reduced. Other loads, such as electric vehicles and LED lighting, also use DC. They can eventually be connected directly to the DC network and integrated into the open system.
The brain of the system is EnergyHub, which connects solar string optimizers and batteries via the DC grid. EnergyHub corresponds to the router in a data network and collects the control of electrical components in the property in one place. EnergyHub acts as an inverter for both solar cells and batteries. Since the conversion and control take place in the same location, conversion losses are minimized and functional and economic benefits are maximized.
More efficient electricity use
Through its unique phase balancing, EnergyHub enables more efficient use of electricity.
This makes it possible, for example, to install electric vehicle chargers that can charge safely and efficiently without disturbing other activities in the property’s electrical system. It can also make it possible to choose a lower main fuse to reduce the fee to the grid owner.

Solar String Optimizer
Ferroamp's solar string optimizer is used to connect solar panels to the Ferroamp system and is market leading in terms of performance in terms of efficiency and safety. The model with independent SSOs for connection gives the system flexibility so that you can easily expand and integrate more solar panels into the system if needed.

EnergyHub
EnergyHub is the brain of the system and acts as an inverter for both solar cells and battery. EnergyHub measures and controls when solar electricity should be used in the house, when excess production should charge the battery and when it should be exported to the electricity grid. It is bidirectional and also acts as a rectifier so that the battery can be charged from the mains when electricity prices are low.

The DC Grid
By utilizing the direct current grid, the Ferroamp system avoids conversion losses between solar cells and battery that otherwise occur when the solar electricity must be converted to alternating current and back to direct current in the battery. It is the direct current technology that makes the system flexible, controllable and scalable.

Phase balancing
Phase balancing handles imbalances in the property's electrical system by automatically moving current between the phases. It enables a more efficient use of electricity so that you do not need to have a higher main fuse, and there with higher network costs, than necessary.

Battery
With Ferroamp's smart control, the battery becomes a flexible tool in the electrical system that gives you both functional and financial benefit. It gives you control over your electricity connection and helps relieve the strain on the heavily strained electricity grid.

EnergyCloud
In the cloud-based EnergyCloud portal, you get high-resolution real-time data that provides an overview and insights into how your electricity usage looks. Here you also set up and adapt the system to your needs. With open APIs, the Ferroamp system can be integrated with other services so that you as a customer can take advantage of the opportunities created in the new electricity grid that is now emerging.

By Integrating the charging box with the Ferroamp system, you can control the electric car charging from EnergyCloud and utilize dynamic load balancing and phase balancing to protect the main fuse, cut power peaks and charge when electricity is cheapest or only when there is excess solar power.
