Emergency power for long-term power outages

In the event of a major power outage, the most important thing is to be able to supply priority power consumers such as refrigerators and freezers or circulation pumps with electricity for a long time. With Ferroamp Emergency Power 1P, the Swedish Ferroamp system can provide emergency power for several days if needed.

With Ferroamp Emergency Power 1P, the battery and solar cell system are kept running even without a connection to the electricity grid. By focusing on the most important power consumers, the battery can last a long time even during the winter months when solar energy production is low,” says Ferroamps founder Björn Jernström.

The Ferroamp system optimizes and controls the use of solar cells, batteries and electric car charging. With functions such as phase balancing, spot price optimization, support services and the ability to cut power peaks and increase selfuse of solar electricity, homeowners and property owners have the opportunity to reduce both electricity and grid costs.

By adding the Ferroamp Emergency Power 1P single-phase inverter to the system, selected electricity consumers are automatically switched to backup power from the battery and solar cells in the event of a power outage. With a socalled blackstart function, the system can also be started without being connected to the power grid.

Safety has become an increasingly important factor for our customers in these troubled times. It is both about secure data management and control of the companys own resources, and the need to be able to have a functioning system even in the event of disturbances in the electricity grid,” says Björn Jernström.

Ancillary services and optimization in new technical platform for V2G

For V2G (vehicle-to-grid) and V2H (vehicle-to-home) to have an impact, a flexible way of combining the use of the battery in a property with the ability to sell different services to support the electricity grid is required. The technical solution for this was shown on Monday by Ferroamp and Varberg Energi.
