Ferroamp launches AI control

In April, Ferroamp launches FerroAI – a new way to control solar cells, batteries and electric car charging. With its flexible DC microgrid and detailed metering, the Ferroamp system provides unique conditions for optimized control with the customer’s benefit in focus.

“This is a new phase for us and our customers. This means that you get access to smart control and to make savings without having to be an expert in the electricity system yourself,” says Kent Jonsson, CEO, Ferroamp.

With the Swedish Ferroamp system, you can reduce your electricity costs through different settings for using batteries, electric car charging and solar production. You can already cut power peaks, maximize self-use of solar electricity, sell ancillary services, phase balance and, from 14 February, also control the charging of the battery according to spot prices.

FerroAI will automate how the various functions are used with a focus on reducing costs for the customer. This means that the customer does not have to make the trade-off which is the most profitable way to use the battery or when it is most advantageous to charge the electric car.

The Ferroamp system has access to high-resolution data on consumption and thus has unique opportunities to learn to optimize according to usage patterns and external conditions. FerroAI will take into account both electricity prices and power tariffs.

All control in FerroAI takes place in Sweden. This is important based on the discussion about security in critical infrastructure that is now being conducted within the EU.

At the same time as FerroAI, opportunities are also offered to let other AI solutions control the system. Earlier this week, Enequi presented how the Ferroamp system can be included in their Core control system and then controlled together with, for example, heat pumps and lighting.

“We constantly strive to make it as easy as possible for our customers to take advantage of the flexibility of the system. We continue to keep open for others to develop their solutions with the Ferroamp system as a base. Customers should be able to choose what suits their specific needs best,” says Kent Jonsson.

Ferroamp and Svea Solar sign cooperation agreement

Ferroamp signs a supplier and cooperation agreement with Svea Solar. With the Ferroamp system, Svea Solar gets a Swedish alternative in its portfolio and Ferroamp gets a partner with the capacity for large sales volumes.

Ferroamp launches V2G charger

Electric car batteries that contribute with capacity when the power demand is high can become a crucial part of the flexible electricity grid. Ferroamp is now releasing a brand-independent V2G charging box.
