Silver medal for Ferroamp's sustainability work

Ferroamp is awarded a silver medal by EcoVadis in the latest evaluation of the company’s sustainability performance. Targeted collaboration with suppliers and streamlining are important factors behind the success.

“Our products contribute to the transformation of the energy system, but they also leave an imprint. That is why we are constantly working to improve sustainability in our own operations and in the collaboration with our partners,” says Kent Jonsson, CEO, Ferroamp.

EcoVadis is an independent company that evaluates and monitors companies’ governance and processes with regard to social responsibility and sustainability work. The companies are evaluated based on 21 criteria in the areas of environment, HR including employee rights, ethics and sustainable sourcing. The methodology is based on international CSR standards including the Global Reporting Initiative, the UN Global Compact and ISO 26000. Ferroamp has risen from bronze to silver this year, which means that the company is among the top 15 percent of all companies ranked in the past year.

An important part of Ferroamp’s sustainability work is to reduce waste in the production process and to streamline maintenance processes. Another part is about collaborating with suppliers on sustainability issues. The company has also begun work on mapping and reporting greenhouse gas emissions with the ambition of being able to set concrete targets for emission reductions in all scopes during the year.

“Sustainable development is important to both us and our customers. Reaching silver level is an acknowledgment that we are on the right track and spurs us on in the continued work,” says Kent Jonsson.
