How do I install batteries in the Ferroamp system?

See installation manuals and guides available under Downloads. The Ferroamp system should be turned off when installing the battery. Once you have installed a battery, you as an installer need to ensure that the system is in running mode and the battery is charging before you leave the installation. If you do not get the battery to charge, you can contact Ferroamp’s support.

NOTE
Only trained electricians may install Ferroamp products.

How do I expand a Pylontech battery pack with more battery modules?

The ESS battery can have up to 5 modules in a stack and the Pylontech Force H3 can have up to 6 modules in a stack in the Ferroamp system.

Important to keep in mind when adding new modules to a battery is that the existing battery is charged to 100% and is thus fully charged when the new battery module is added.

Assembly of the new battery module is done according to the supplied manual.

How many batteries can I connect to the Ferroamp system?

The number of batteries that can be connected to a single EnergyHub system is limited by the number of ESOs connected to the DC grid. One EnergyHub can currently communicate with up to 20 ESOs. In concrete terms, this means that a DC grid can contain up to 20 batteries with 1 ESO for each battery, or 10 batteries with 2 ESOs for each battery.

How are Pylontech batteries connected to the Ferroamp system?

How are Pylontech batteries connected to the Ferroamp system?

There are different types of scenarios where different ways of connecting energy storage are suitable for different purposes. Below are three examples of different types of interconnections for ESS batteries and Pylontech Force H3.

Example 1.

A stack and three SSOs are connected via a PowerCase to the EnergyHub.

Tre SSO:er och ett batteri kopplas via ett PowerCase till EnergyHub

Example 2.

Two stacks and six SSOs are connected via two Powercase units to EnergyHub.

Example 3: Parallel connection of batteries

Extend a system with a battery stack with an additional stack by paralleling. Two battery stacks are connected in parallel and connected via a distribution box to a PowerCase.

It is possible to connect a maximum of six batteries in parallel  , however, it is required that there is the same number of modules in all batteries that are connected together.

By paralleling, the storage capacity of the system increases . However, the power will not be affected by several number of batteries. It is still determined by the combination of the number of modules and the number of ESOs.

NOTE

For ESS batteries, parallel connection can only take place if they have Main controller V2. To check which version your main controller is, check the part number on the Pylontech label. The part number for V2 is 11FC0500MZA-00013 .

For information on how to parallel connect, see the Quickguide for each battery under Downloads.

Can I install different batteries in the same Ferroamp system?

If you already have a battery and want to expand the system with a new one, you have good conditions, by connecting the new battery to your own ESO/Powercase, the Ferroamp system supports handling several batteries from different manufacturers in one and the same system. See Example 2 under the heading How are Pylontech batteries connected to the Ferroamp system?“.
